Cant install SDK Windows 64

Hello, I keep getting error when I run the install manager (as administrator). "Cannot execute java, check environment variables or need Java 1.6 or higher". Ive installed SE sdk7 and SE jre7, Ive set my path to PATH  C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_25\bin  Ive also taken out the "jdk1.7.0_25" and added jre7. No luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Ben

Try to check that you use JRE 64-bit and Tizen SDK installer 64-bit, but not 32-bit. And what is your version of Windows?

Hi Benjamin, Please set the system environment Path Variable to 'c:\windows\system32'. Refer the thread for more information : https://developer.tizen.org/forums/sdk-ide/sdk-installation-fails-windows-7-x64 ~Sanjana

Hello Sanjana, I changed the path from what I had listed above to: "c:\windows\system32" and I was able to install the sdk. :) Thank you for your help! -Ben

Hi! I have the same problem and even if I change the Path variable to C:\Windows\System32 I still get the same error... any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Daniel, Please give the details about the JDK installed. Re-install the JDK 7 for the Windows® version. Please check the prerequisites for the Tizen SDK for Windows® version.: https://developer.tizen.org/downloads/sdk/installing-sdk/prerequisites-tizen-sdk ~Sanjana

Hello. I'm having an issue with installing as well. I have Windows 8 64-bit and when I try to install the Tizen SDK, both as admin and normal, and it pops up with a window that says "You must have either a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or a Java Development Kit (JDK) in version 6 installed on your computer." I installed both version 6 and version 7 of either the JDK and the JRE. So I'm stuck right now. haha Is it because of Windows 8 not being one of the prerequisites? Or something else? Thanks, -Drew.

Hi, Follow the steps mentioned in the blog https://www.unetti.com/blog/installing-tizen-sdk-on-windows-8-64-bit/

Thank you. But what does that even mean: "javaw -jar Install Manager.jar". Google can't even find it. haha I also searched Java's site too.

open the windows command line console (cmd) navigate to \AppData\Local\Temp\tizensdk type in: javaw -jar Install Manager.jar

Tizen installer is JAVA based... You can check Temp folder for extracted files... Btw... java -jar InstallManager.jar Without w... For me working to execute 1 of these *.exe files... Forgotten which one... because all do the same in Temp folder. Btw... Forum functions not very helpfull... No search... generally and own posts... (post history) No chance to attach Screenshots... This is asked often and sometimes usefull solution and better description available... but I can not find these Threads again. :( Best Regards

You can use google's advanced search operators to simulate that functionality. For example: site:developer.tizen.org/forums "peter wegner"

@ Bucky Thanx for this good idea... :) So I found for instance this... again: https://developer.tizen.org/forums/general-support/installing-tizen-sdk-under-windows-8 Meanwhile I also found this... https://source.tizen.org/search/node And I hope 1 day in near future it is possible also for this Forum. :) Best Regards

The solution I've found was to go the temporary files (where the installer unpackages Installmanager.jar, among others) and run InstmanagerC.exe. This will open the install manager, you then should go to advanced and choose SDK Image location, provided you downloaded the image, which I recommend instead of using the Package server. This way, you'll bypass the Javacheck verification. Make sure you have Java Runtime or Developer Kit Installed ! You can find out where the Temp files are installed when you first run the tizen-sdk file. The title in the window points to the temp files, in my case C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Temp\tizensdk_20130904012602 Hope that helps

Go to \AppData\Temp\tizensdk, and right click the file called InstallManager, jar and choose Open With. At the prompt below, choose Java TM Platform SE Binary.

How do you want to open this file?

Java TM Platform SE Binary

Show all apps

The one in bold is the item that you need to choose. Voila!

In my case, I have had success installing on Windows 7-64....

...but I appear to get two identical IDE's.

My interest is also in the SDK for Wearable but it seems that the Wearable installation-set is just installing the same IDE as the Tizen SDK but into a different location.  I cannot detect a difference anywhere between a running "Tizen SDK" and "Tizen SDK for Wearable" IDE.

Thanks to all for any help that can be provided.
