Cannot see files in Music App on 2.0 Developer Device

Hello, I am running the latest release of 2.0 on a developer device (rd-210-20130218.10). I have loaded some mp3, wav, and ogg files onto the device at opt/usr/media/sounds/ & I can successfully see these files in the "my files" app. I can also play them from there in with the "sounds player" app; however, I do not understand why I can not see them listed in the "music" app or play them from there. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

I figured out a solution: although it seems strange to me, simply adding write permissions for group & other on one music file and then restarting the phone did the trick. All the music files already had full user permissions, but apparently by changing the permissions in shell and then restarting the phone it caused the files to be noticed by the music application.
