Question about the tizen license

Hi, all.

we are interested in the terms of tizen license.

I know the Linux Assosiation has the trademark of Tizen.

What procedure is needed If I sell the tizen pre-installed hardware with print of "Tizen"?

Can we use Tizen trademark freely?

Regards,

Tomohiro Tomita

Hi, Please contact the Tizen Association: http://www.tizenassociation.org/

Or Linux Foundation since "Tizen is a registered trademark of The Linux Foundation" as it says in the footer of tizen.org?

For hardware sales it's the Tizen Association ;)

Hi, Olivier. We only install Tizen to the evaluation board which provided by hardware vendors. In this case, we are not a hardware vendor, I think. And I know the Tizen SDK is not fully open source software, so we are currently planning to resell the Tizen pre-installed evaluation board only. Does this business violate the licence policy of the Linux Foundation and/or the Tizen Association?

Installing Tizen on an evaluation board shouldn't be a problem imo.

forgot: almost all hardware vendors support Tizen IVI: http://automotive.linuxfoundation.org/

Hi, Oliver Thank you for your information. If the current version of Tizen does not support evaluation board yet, It is not a ploblem because we can port the Tizen OS to the board, I think. By the way, I am interested in the terms of Tizen license. I think it will not violate any license concern with Tizen that we provide the Tizen pre-installed board. Is it correct?
