Generate certificate button missing

I am trying to generate a certificate so I can test and use the SDK. However, when I go to Preferences>> Tizen SDK >> Security Profiles and add a new profile, there is no generate button next to the author certificate. How can i generate a key without this button? And why is mine missing to begin with?

Also in general, I find the lack of tutorials and helpful information on how to get started very lacking. So much text, no pictures or videos... If anyone has tutorials I can reference that would be fantastic.

Thank you!

Hi Chris,

The certificate howto: https://developer.tizen.org/forums/general-support/how-register-author-certificate-tizen-sdk

There are tutorials here: https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/Application_Development

While I appreciate the link. I still don't have a "generate button" shown in the tutorial and as stated in my original question. Is there a reason the button is missing from mine where as EVERYONE else seems to have it?

First add a new security profile (upper box) after that you can generate a profile

I have done that, I still don't have a Generate button.

Hi,

If you're using Samsung Z1, I suggest you to install the extension SDK for Samsung Z1.

                   http://developer.samsung.com/samsung-z

                   http://developer.samsung.com/technical-doc/view.do?v=T000000198

Then, you need to generate your certificate through below "Regsiter Certificate" menu in IDE(Tizen SDK 2.3 Rev 2).

This button will be visible after you install the extension SDK.

I wish this will help you.

I am not using Samsung Z1. I am trying to develop for the Samsung S - SmartWatch... At this time I am going to return the device to the store and get a refund. The watch simply does not do what I want it to do and I invested too much time trying to figure out how to develop an app for it only to be blocked by some stupid certificate issue.

The app store for the Samsung S doesn't even have a search function. The lack of support, functionality and thought that was put into the device is awful.

Thanks for those that posted to try and help.

Hi,

I guess that you've already installed Tizen wearable SDK 1.0.0 for your Gear S.

And you can find how to generate and register certificate in below help page of IDE.

Getting Started with Tizen Wearable > Development Environment > Tizen SDK for Wearable

This pdf contains same description.

I wish this will help you.

Hi,

I had the same problem when updating to Tizen SDK 2.4 so here you have the things I did to resolve the problem:

Using the Update Manager, I installed the Extras: "Certificate Extension" and "Tizen Wearable Extension for 2.3.1".

After that, I reopen the IDE and, voilà! The certificate button appeared.

I have a same problem after install SDK2.4 on W10 x64
previously have installer 2.3.x on different folder .

Also i'm cant see certificates button in interface ( because can't install cert.addon)

(I'm tied by lost my time every one when update release SDK ..  different problem - 1-5 days !!!!)
