How to connect sdb to Gear S over WiFi

I was finally able to make sdb work with my Gear S when I plug it to my computer via USB cable. Solution was to install the Samsung Smart Switch app

Now I'm trying to connect to the watch over WiFi. I turned off Bluetooth and connected watch to WiFi. Noted IP and follow the gudeline from here: http://developer.samsung.com/technical-doc/view.do?v=T000000251L

When I execute the connect command all I see is:

error: failed to connect to remote target

Any suggestions?

I checked the link and I think sdb over WiFi is for Gear S2 because it doesn't have usb port.

Hi,

You need you enable this menu in your Gear S.

Settings --> Gear Info --> USB debugging

Then, your device will be detected in your PC.

Hello,

here is the answer: http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-127494/

  1. From an active Home screen, swipe up.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Gear info.
  4. Tap USB debugging to enable or disable.
Note Enabled when a check mark is present.

The question is not about USB, it's about connecting over WiFi. is it possible with Gear S?

Hi,

WiFi debugging for Gear S is not possbile. It seems that WiFi debugging is possbile in Gear S2 only.

Hello,

I agree with daniel kim, there is no way to connect Gear S to Host PC using Wi-Fi.
