What do building a widget really do?

Hi all,      I am new to web app development. So, pardon me if I am asking a dump question:). While going through the help contents, I saw that we can build widgets and some procedure is mentioned to do it. But, I couldnt understand when I have to use it. I am from a C++ background and there you need to build before running any app. Here, I can run the app without building it. So, what do this building a widget really do? Any help will be appreciated.   Thanks.

Hey Sibila, Web apps need not be built as you build the C++ application. Here, the build means the packaging of the web app to make it a widget. Welcome to web app world!

That's correct. Building a web app is just packaging it (as widget). Tizen follows W3C widget packaging. Tizen supports two packaging format's, one is "*.tpk" for Tizen C++Apps (aka, native apps) and the other is "*.wgt" for Web apps. As mentioned in the Tizen developer documention, apps can be built/packaged automatically or explicitly.
