RD-PQ does not turn on after failed update to 2.2.1

Hi there!

If someone can help me out... I've tried to update device to 2.2.1, it failed. But now I cannot seem to turn it on. Screen is black, and lsusb does not see it. Is there a special recovery mode that could help me out in a situation like this? Any suggestions?

Thank You!

1.

Are you sure your battery is not "empty"?

Empty battery means not 0 Volt... Sometimes because Software/Bootloader Check less 3 Volt is empty enough to prevent start...

2.

Download Mode work?

Power + Down

If not...

3.SLP Bootloader alive?

Check Key combination:

Up + Down + Power

In theory 2 ways possible... restore from internal memory... or extra SD card...

You need u-boot.bin... and correct procedure...

4.

If you have maybe Windows PC and handset told you something like this:

https://developer.tizen.org/forums/general-support/sec-s5pc210-test-bd

Sorry, untested by me...

This is Top Secret Secret from Samsung...

:)

No idea why it is impossible to tell Developers how to reanimate their devices...

Maybe you have more luck if you contact Samsung direct via Email...

Good luck.

Thank You for your reply!

No, download mode does not work. Also, power+up+down does not seem to do anything, although I am not sure about the order of presses, duration, and whether usb needs to be plugged in or out, and whether should I see anything on screen. But I tried different combinations.

In German Voltmeter... In English I hope Digital Multimeter...

Check if Battery have more then 3 Volt...

----------------------------------------------------------------

For blind tests... without Display you can try to attach in Windows PC...

Check Device Manager for request of Driver:

SEC S5PC210 Test B/D

You don't need press any Key, if all Bootloaders are broken...

But first be sure about battery... Volt.

Good luck.

Hi there!

I borrowed a voltmeter and it sais 4.23 Volts for the battery. Seems enough.

I have no access to a windows pc (only virtualized) but I can tell that os x does not see the device.

Thank you very much for feedback.

So battery is full enough.

At this point I have no more ideas. About htis:

SEC S5PC210 Test B/D

I have no idea, if Linux or Mac OS detect this... maybe someone else could confirm or help.

https://developer.tizen.org/forums/general-support/sec-s5pc210-test-bd

But at this state it would be very tough task to reanimate the device...

I have only knowledge about success wit S8500, I9000... but not on any eMMC device.

And "tested" only by me with Windows XP...

Sorry, you at your own now.

Try to contact Samsung.

Good luck.
