Device Manager Unknown Platform

I am trying to upload an app to my JS9000 (2015) Samsung TV but it keeps failing. I am able to see the TV in device manager but unable to see the platform or details in the project explorer. I have attached a screen shot illistrating what I am seeing. Has anyone had this issue? If so, are there any work arounds? My tv is in developer mode and set to the correct IP address for the developing machine.

Accoring to the List UJS9000 is a 2015 model Smart TV running on TV Extension 2.4.0.

There's a Note regarding your query on Samsung Developers: Samrt TV section saying Tizen Studio 2.0 supports TV Extension 4.0 or higher.

So, Tizen Studio 2.0 is not for UJS9000. You can develop Tizen 2.X and 3.X TV applications with the IDEs on Samsung developers Archive:

Thanks! So I can not use Tizen Studio to develop Tizen 2.4 Apps? I have downloaded Eclipse and looks very different than Tizen studio. Any chance you know of any tutorials for this? Device connections etc.?

You're Welcome.

 

Formerly 'Device Manager' tasks were handled by 'Connection Explorer'. Though the look is different but in my opinion functionalities are almost same as I've used both the IDEs. You would find very good resources on Samsung developers and Tizen developers Site. All the Guides and API references are applicable for your device, only skip which functions explicitly declared: Since 3.0 or Since 4.0. Don't worry, such functions are very few in number.

Sorry, but the decision on this issue is not fully understood, especially for beginners...
Could you once again confirm that application development for J-series is possible only on tizen 2.2-2.4 and we can’t use of version 3.x?
Could you indicate a solution to this problem?

Thanks for all of your help. I was able to develop my app but I am having trouble installing it on my TV. I am able to run and view it on my TV but it only works when I am connected via the SDK. Is there a way that I can permantely install the application?

It's possible to Install app on device using 'Device Manager' window rather than 'Run as > Tizen Web Application'. This process works on my Mobile device, Check If it works on TV also.

Device Manager > Right click over device on Device Explorer > Install app > locate your '.wgt' file.

Or else you can try copying the built '.wgt' file into your TV directory.

I am using the older version of the SDK, but in the connection manager I can see my tv and when i right click on it I dont not see those options. I see 'Permit to install application' and when i click on that it notifys me that the certificate has succeded to upload. Also, when i am connected i cannot see the TVs directory.

I have no problems testing on the tv and uploading via Run As > Tizen Web Application.

In Ideal case, if you have Installed & ran the application once using 'Run As > Tizen Web Application' command; You would find the app on your TV later from:

 

Home/Menu > Apps > All Apps > Your app
