Tizen Studio - Certificate Manager - profiles.xml

Hi,

I upgraded my Tizen Studio to the new version recently. At first use it asked me to import the profiles.xml from old Tizen Studio installation.

(Migration for Certificate Profile - Select the profile file (profiles.xml) you want to import. If you have used an older version of Tizen Studio, profiles.xml can be found <WORKSPACE_PATH>/.metadata/.plugins/org.tizen.common.sign directory.)

So I selected the file in the described directory and reached my certificate profiles.

It worked a while until I need to add a new certificate. When I open the certificate-manager now, it asks the same question above like I have not imported it before. I tried several times but was not successful. It seems like it can'T write to a config file. What may be the problem ?

I am using Windows 10 Home edition

Thanks.

Right now, You have successfully imported your previous certificates in latest Tizen-Studio. They are on your Certificate list now, Right?

Then, You want to create a new certificate on the existing list. And the IDE is asking you to Import old certificates if required.

Isn't there any option to skip import and create new, as you have already successfully imported your previous certificates ?

Please correct me if my understanding of the scenario is wrong.

hi,

you understood the scenario correctly but as you see in the image, it does not offer a "skip import" choice.

how shall I skip import and use the available certificate on my watch.

Seems a Major Bug in IDE. Can you proceed by Importing the same old certificate every time ?

You may report a bug on Tizen bug Tracker. Here's a guideline on how to report bugs.

Please share the 'Reported bug' link here on this post to help the developers keep track. Mention your OS version while reporting.

I'm having similar issues however I just started programming a Tizen app last weekend. So I'm not having old "profiles", I can run a app in the simulator however when trying to sign it/test it on a TV I always het the "import dialog" and/or signing issue.

- Windows 7
- Tizen Studio 2.2
- TV Extentsion 3 & 4

What happens When you Click on Tools > Certificate Manager ?

Please share Screenshot of the first window you are facing after launching 'Certificate manager'.

Build signed app results in:

Clicking that link gives the "import dialog"

Opening the certificate manger:

To be clear, the first window I see when I click "certificate manager" is the "import dialog"

Please Try Opening Tizen-Studio in new/another workspace in a different directory.

One way of doing that would be to launch Tizen-Studio IDE again while it is launched using Current Workspace, Then it would allow you to launch Tizen-Studio in a new workspace. (Make the new one default workspace,by checking 'Use as Default').

Ok this seems to solve the problem, however in the new workspace I'm now not abel to debug/run on an emulator. After bulding and starting the emulator I'll get this error:

Installing the package... > Fail
Unexpected error occurred at the below step.
 `Installing the package...`
Tizen Web Application install failed. Please try again later.

Nevermind, creating a new certificate solved the: Installing the package... > Fail error

Thanks!

Isn't this a similar problem? https://developer.tizen.org/forums/sdk-ide/no-certificate-profil-permit-install-application-was-found-workspace-device-manager

Seems relevant, But can't say similar. Cause on that post Mickael MARTIN is able to create New Tizen & Samsung Certificates at least, But here mekabe remain  is only having the Import Certificate Profile option.
